Editorial context · October 2026
Two connected problems in the announcement
The Machine Industry Module was introduced as a way to automate document assembly and generate information tailored to machine assemblies. The Salesforce integration was described as a way to deliver technical content while retaining navigation hierarchy, multimedia, and information structure. Read both as capabilities described in the 2019 announcement; this page does not establish a current feature or compatibility list.
Plan the relationship before automating it
| Question | Why it belongs in the plan |
|---|---|
| Which configuration? | Identify the assembly, option set, or product version that determines which instructions apply. |
| Which content? | Record how each procedure relates to the configuration, including prerequisites and shared information. |
| Which approval? | Determine who verifies that the assembled information is complete and appropriate for that configuration. |
| Which destination? | Test whether the delivery experience preserves the context needed by the customer or service team. |
A representative demonstration is better than a generic one
Use a real, bounded example: two configurations that share most components but differ in one service procedure. Ask the team to show how the difference is represented, how a shared topic is changed, and how each resulting information set is reviewed. Include an exception, such as a missing relationship or an unapproved topic, so the demonstration reveals what happens when the source is incomplete.
